To assist Shetland based businesses with their marketing projects, Shetland Island Council today launches a new website shetlandmarketing.org
Designed to be easy to navigate and accompanied by practical information, the site’s aims are to highlight the wider picture of marketing to local businesses and to encourage it’s visitors to get in touch with the Council’s Economic Development Unit to see what assistance can be provided.
Part of the ShetlandMarketing.org team is Marketing Officer Kevin Moreland -
“Marketing is so much more than producing a leaflet, placing an ad and hoping a customer chooses you. This site is designed to encourage visitors to see the marketing of their business in a wider sense and to recognize that there are several ways the EDU can help with their marketing efforts.
The site contains various links that offer practical advice on sales and marketing along with general business development information. In addition, there are four case studies of Shetland-based businesses that show some of the benefits that companies have received by focussing their marketing efforts.
“Every business is different and has different customer needs but the principles of marketing stay the same no matter what type of service or product you offer. We want to encourage business owners to browse the site and to get in touch to see how we can help.”
The Economic Development Unit can be reached on 01595 744 940 or on email
